Jim River Predator Game Calls are made of weather resistant plastic so they
resist freezing.
They sound great and are very durable. There are three different
distress calls to choose from so no matter what type of terrain you are calling
in, there is one that is right for the job.
Many people do not understand what is meant when a call manufacturer refers
to a call as being "close range," "mid range," or "long range." I have given
the description of the ways I use Jim River Game Calls. If you use that as
a guideline, I am sure you will have similar results.

JR-#1 - Short Range Call
The JR-#1 is a low volume cottontail distress call. It should be used when
you are trying to coax predators from less than 1/2 mile in calm winds. It
is a sweet sounding call that works well on fox, coyote, bobcats and all birds
of prey. It will sometimes work on the bigger predators and is not apt to spook
predators that are bedded down close to the calling area.
Cost: $12.95 each (plus
$4.00 shipping and handling)

JR-#2 - Mid-Range Call
The JR-#2 is a mid-range
call designed to attract predators that are between 1/2 mile and a mile out
in calm winds. It will also work for predators that
are closer but you need to start out with low air pressure to avoid spooking
critters that may be only a few yards away. The call is more raspy than the
JR-#1 but not near as raspy as the JR-#3. It works great for calling small
wood lots on windy days due to the volume that it puts out. It imitates a cottontail
or young jackrabbit in distress and works great on fox, bobcat, coyote and
all birds of prey. It is a great choice for the days when you need a little
more volume due to wind, local traffic or running water. It can also be effective
on the larger predators when used to imitate a fawn/kid in distress.
Cost: $12.95 each (plus
$4.00 shipping and handling)

JR-#3 - Long Range
Call
The JR-#3 is very raspy.
It is a versatile double reed call that can be used as a coazer at close
range, a long distance distress call, and nearly everything
in between. It is the most versatile of the metal reed calls. The double reed
design allows very quiet distress sounds to be produced when very low air pressure
is applied. With moderate air pressure applied, it produces very realistic
jackrabbit distress sounds. With high air pressure, it will emulate a terrified
jackrabbit. It can also be used to create excellent fawn/kid distress cries.
If you like a very reaspy sounds, this call is for you. This call puts out
maximum volume for use in big country where the animals may be out a couple
miles or beyond. It is also the call of choice when battling high wind. This
call works excellent on all predators but is especially effective for the larger
predators like coyote, bobcat, cougar, bear and wolf.
Cost: $12.95 each (plus
$4.00 shipping and handling)

JR-#4 - Howler
The JR-#4 Howler is
a howler that has an open reed design and it really puts out the volume.
Coyotes that have been educated with distress cries will often only respond
to howls. The JR-#4 will produce all of the coyote vocalizations from the
lonesome howl to the invitation howl to the coyote distress yips to the
juvenile "play howls." It will also produce great sounding prey
cries like a wounded jackrabbit or trapped cottontail. When you are trying
to coax a coyote into gun range, he has to be able to hear it if he is
going to respond. The JR-#4 Howler is the answer. It sounds realistic.
It works in all weather. It is easy to use, and it really brings them in.
Cost: $12.95 (plus $4.00
shipping and handling)
